Triconti
ECC Renewables Corporation is seeking the endorsement of Sangguniang Bayan of
Malay, Aklan for the construction of its wind farm project in the towns of Nabas
and Malay.
Engr.
Guian Carlo Mascardo, project manager for Aklan 1 Wind project, said the wind
farm in the northern towns of Aklan is under pre-development stage.
“Aklan
1 Wind farm is the first project of Triconti ECC, which started in 2012. The
company also has 10 to 11 projects in the pipeline across the country,” he
added.
Mascardo
stressed the favourable endorsement of Sangguniang Bayan is necessary for the
processing and issuance of permits and other regulatory requirements.
The
project developer will also conduct public consultation and collaborate with
the local government units for the development and management of the wind farm.
Mascardo
said they will also obtain Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP)
Height Clearance, Certificate of Non-Coverage with the National Commission of
Indigenous Peoples and Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) with
Department of Environment and Natural Resources for the project.
The
$270-million Nabas wind farm will cover across the barangays of Napaan and
Argao in the town of Malay and the barangays of Rizal, Unidos, Libertad,
Tagaroroc, Habana and Gibon in the town of Nabas.
The
three-phases wind farm facility consists of 31 turbines with a total installed
capacity of 75-megawatts.
By
next year, the wind energy developer will start the laying of transmission
lines, installation of transformers and turbines, and construction of access
roads and substation. The wind farm is scheduled for completion by the 4th
quarter of 2020, and is expected the commissioning and commercial operation by
early months of 2021.
Currently,
Triconti has service contracts for Ivisan Wind Power Project in Capiz, Bohol 2
Wind Power Project in Anda, Bohol 1 Wind Power Project in Ubay and Batan in
Aklan with the Department of Energy (DoE).
