Iloilo's most wanted person found hiding in Boracay

Iloilo City’s number 3 most wanted person and a high-value drug personality was captured in Boracay Island on August 5.

The 29-year old Rommel Milliam Quidato alias Mel-Mel, resident of Veterans Village in Iloilo City, was nabbed by operatives by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) at around 3:15 p.m.  in Sitio Tulubhan in Barangay Manoc-Manoc. 

RDEU in coordination with Malay municipal police station and Boracay police sub-station served the warrant of arrest issued on April 24, 2018 by Judge Victor Gelvezon of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 36 in Iloilo City under Criminal Case No. 16-78041. 

Quidato faced charges for violations of Sections 5 and 12 in relation to Article 2 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Quidato, who works as a tattoo artist in Boracay, rented a boarding house in Sitio Tulubhan for almost a year before he was apprehended by operatives. 

No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.  

"Nakasuhan at nakulong din ang live-in partner ko sa illegal drugs noong 2015 dahil na-raid ang aming boarding house sa Iloilo City. Umuwi din ako minsan sa Iloilo," the suspect after his arrest. 

A bench warrant of arrest issued on May 8, 2018 by acting presiding Judge Gemma Lyn Tarol of RTC Branch 31 in Iloilo City for homicide under Criminal Case  No. 10-68835 was also served to Quidato.  

The homicide incident happened in 2010 in Barangay Esperanza, Iloilo City. 

The suspect is temporarily detained at Boracay police sub-station lock-up facility. He will be turned over to local courts in Iloilo City.
