go Agri-Kultura sa Aklan.
The
six-day event will have free technical seminars for agriculture and fishery
sectors, display and sale of high-value crops, livestocks, farm implements and
equipments and talibong making. The fair coincides with the 59th Aklan
Anniversary celebration from April 21 to 26.
Emmanuel
Soviet Russia dela Cruz, chairman of Aklan Sangguniang Panlalawigan committee
on agriculture, said the event aims to encourage organic farming, introduce
urban and container gardening, spread and share new and available technologies
to the community and to instill the importance of the agricultural sector in
the food security program.
The
fair also aimed to strengthen the strong partnership of the provincial
government and the private sector.
“Agri-Kultura
sa Aklan” is sponsored by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) in
collaboration with the Office of Provincial Veterinarian (OpVet) and Harbest AgriBusiness
Corporation.
Interested
participants will be trained by agri-tech teams on game fowl health care
management, urban gardening for leafy vegetables, art of bonsai making, fisheries
forum, babuyan na walang amoy by ProNatural Feeds Corporation, organic farming by
Victory Global and organic vegetable production.
Livestocks
such as piglets, turkeys, darag and native chickens, rabbits, muscovy and
peking ducks are for sale. Fresh vegetables, farmers produce for the
farmer and fisherfolks market and farm machineries from Kubota are also
available.
“May
actual talibong making man. Blacksmiths are also selling sanduko ag sanggot. We could also order our own specifications it talibong ag
bara, tigib, daras ag sanggot,” Dela Cruz said.
Around
18 exhibitors from Iloilo, Tangalan, Mindoro, Makato, Banga, Negros and Manila are
confirmed to join the fair to be held at Goding Ramos Park Capitol Grounds.
Aklan
Governor Florencio Miraflores is the guest speaker for the “Agri-Kultura sa
Aklan” opening program on April 21.
