BY BOY RYAN B. ZABAL

The Negosyo Center in Aklan, which will be housed at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Aklan Provincial Office, will operate starting April 24, said DTI-Aklan provincial director Engr. Diosdado Cadena.

The one-stop shop center along Veterans Avenue, Kalibo, Aklan was established by DTI to assist businesses and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Republic Act (RA) 10644, also known as Go Negosyo Act, seeks to establish Negosyo Centers in all provinces, cities and municipalities nationwide through public-private partnership. RA 10644 “An Act Promoting Job Generation and Inclusive Growth through the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises” is authored by Senator Bam Aquino.

Cadena said the first Negosyo Center in Aklan will provide assistance for entrepreneurs for their business registration, consultation services, trainings and workshops and information packages to the SMEs and businesses.

To support the growth of MSMEs, the Go Negosyo would be linked to the Philippine Business Registry System (PBRS), a government project that integrates the services of all agencies for easier and faster registration of businesses by entrepreneurs.
Cadena said permit and license-issuing agencies such as Bureau of Internal Revenue, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Securities and Exchange Commission and Social Security System and other industry organizations to facilitate registration are also linked with Go Negosyo Center.

“This will be the first negosyo center outside of the regional office. Gin improved ang mga facilities na magatutok sa grassroot or municipal levels to put up enterprises. We have business counselors that would help the entrepreneurs. Pati how to apply for loans with banks, the MSMEs are guided in our Negosyo Center,” he said.
