Boracay first aid stations, assistance centers set on Holy Week

As tourists continue flocking to Boracay Island, volunteers and rescue responders of Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) Boracay-Malay and government law enforcement agencies will offer assistance this Holy Week.

From April 16 (Holy Wednesday) to April 19 (Black Saturday), four first- aid stations will be set up in Boracay’s main tourism area – the White Beach and the Cagban jetty port during the observance of Semana Santa. 

Aside from medical assistance, free drinking water stations will also available through Boracay Island Water Company. 

The four first-aid stations manned by PNRC Boracay-Malay personnel and volunteers will be on duty from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Cagban jetty port in Barangay Manoc-Manoc, in front of Epic Boracay in D’Mall in Barangay Balabag, near Astoria Boracay in Station 1 and beside the Station 3 outpost in Barangay Manoc-Manoc. 

Public is also reminded by PNRC Boracay-Malay to call its hotline 199 or (036) 288-2068 or (036) 288-3066 of the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center in case of emergency.

Also for public safety, police assistance desks and centers are placed in strategic areas to respond to emergencies and to give assistance to travelers. 

Police will also deploy more personnel to intensify their mobile and foot patrols in areas of convergence in the resort-island, the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center said.
