The
Aklan Pina and Fiber Festival 2014, featuring the homegrown and finest products
of Aklan, formally open on Tuesday at The Trade Hall at Provincial Capitol
Grounds here.
The
trade fair is among many other activities lined up in celebration of the 58th
founding anniversary of Aklan. It is a showcase of public-private partnership
to help promote micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and to enhance
their competitiveness.
From
April 22 to 27, more than 50 exhibitors will have the opportunity to sell their
unique and world-class products to institutional buyers and the general public.
Local products in display include decorative crafts, gifts, fashion
accessories, confectionary products, agri-aqua products, bakery, high fashion
apparels, furnishings, pina wearables and loomwoven products are sold at affordable
prices.
Now
on its 15th year, the event is a collaboration of the provincial
government of Aklan, Department of Trade and Industry-Aklan, PhilFIDA, PhilExport-Aklan
Chapter, Hugod Aklanon Producers Association, Inc. and Aklan Pina and Indigenous Fibers
Manufacturers and Traders Association, Inc.
The
opening program will be held at The Trade Hall at 2 p.m. on April 22. A mini-fashion show styled by fashion designer Rommel Constantino follows.
Admission
is free.
