Aklan Photographic Society elects officers

KALIBO, Aklan – The Aklan Photographic Society (APS) has elected its new set of officers and directors on Tuesday night at 3rd Cup Cafe here.
Ramel Buncalan was unanimously elected as APS president for 2011 to 2012.
Other newly elected APS officers were Mark Leslie Laguna (vice president), Shiela Tamado (secretary), Arnie Mae Dangan (treasurer), Boy Ryan Zabal (press relations officer), Juler Fernandez (auditor), Christian Darwin Seraspi and Kristine Gaspar (business managers).
Buncalan, in his acceptance speech, has rallied for the solid cooperation and support of APS members through its numerous programs.
"We expect a stronger and bigger APS this year. APS will surely bank on the strength of volunteerism of its members to help achieve our goals, " he added.
The board of directors were Nolyn Yap (chairman), Joel Juliano (vice chairman), Bart Baylon, Christian James Abogadie, Chrency Magallanes, Lyn Laguna, Mark Cirlou Menez, Jom Dureza and Nelson Talidong, Jr. (members).
APS, which was established in 2008, has been providing workshop lectures and hands-on outdoor photography sessions to enhance photography skills of its members. Through the years, APS has helped in the promotion of Aklan's tourism and natural beauty, especially the Kalibo Ati-Atihan festival and other events in the province.
Last January, APS held its first photo contest "Faces of Ati-Atihan" in partnership with the Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi) in celebration of the famous Ati-Atihan festival.
Buncalan, also the founding APS president, said the induction of the new officers will take place this coming March 20 in Kalibo, Aklan.
