KALIBO, Aklan - The Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) is launching the "Pulis Ko, Titser Ko" project in coordination with the Department of Education (Deped) in 19 public elementary schools throughout the province of Aklan on September 20.
APPO personnel will give 30 to 60 minutes classroom lecture every week to school children beginning Monday until the end of school year, according to Aklan police director Senior Superintendent Epifanio Bragais, Jr.
"This is line with the program thrust of Police Regional Director Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao, Jr. where our local police from different municipal police stations will be teaching public elementary school pupils," he said.
Those policemen who were former teachers and graduates of Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) or trained community educators will teach Grade IV pupils on welfare and development, nationalism, crime prevention awareness, drug awareness, child safety and lectures on obedience to law and respect for law enforcers.
The impact PNP program will be simultaneously launched in 19 public elementary schools selected by DepEd Aklan: New Buswang Elementary School (to be handled by APPO and Aklan Public Safety Company), Yapak Elementary School (Boracay Special Police Office), Guisi Elementary School (Altavas), Calizo Elementary School (Balete), Aguinaldo T. Repiedad, Sr. Integrated School (Banga), Camanci Elementary School (Batan), Buruanga Elementary School (Buruanga), Aparicio Elementary School (Ibajay), Kalibo Pilot Elementary School (Kalibo), Lezo Integrated School (Lezo), Janlud Elementary School (Libacao), Madalag Elementary School (Madalag), Makato Integrated School (Makato), Caticlan Elementary School (Malay), Lilo-an Elementary School (Malinao), Union Elementary School (Nabas), New Washington Central Elementary School (New Washington), Numancia Integrated School (Numancia) and Tangalan Elementary School (Tangalan).
