A chicken vendor was
arrested in a police drug buy-bust operation on December 29 in Kalibo, Aklan.

The operation led to the arrest
of 52-year old suspect identified as Jerry Sim, resident
of Poblacion, this town. He allegedly sold two sachets of methamphetamine
hydrochloride popularly known as shabu to a poseur buyer for P3,000 marked
money.
After months of surveillance,
operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA 6), Aklan Provincial
Intelligence Branch, Kalibo municipal police station and Aklan Provincial Drug
Enforcement Unit (PDEU) conducted the operation at around 11:10 p.m. in front
of a beach resort in Sitio Lambingan in Barangay Pook.
Around 0.10 grams of suspected
shabu was seized from Sim, the police said. A black
leather wallet and a motorcycle used by the suspect were also confiscated during
the operation.
The suspect was temporarily
detained at Kalibo municipal police station lock-up cell after his arrest.
Sim will be facing charges for violating Section 5 (selling of illegal drugs) and Section 11 (illegal possession) of Article II of
Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
