Kalibo airport activates ‘Oplan Biyaheng Ayos’

Kalibo International Airport manager Engr. Eusebio Monserate, Jr. said they are activating the ‘Oplan Biyaheng Ayos’ 24 hours a day for maximum security and safety operations in the airport. 

The number of travelers flocking to provinces and Boracay Island  is expected to increase in the coming holiday seasons

Help assistance desks in arrival and departure areas of Kalibo airport are manned by medical and emergency responders to assist the visitors and passengers. 

Monserate also conducted security survey to prepare and check the 24/7 security deployment of personnel in strategic areas and to ensure security protocols are being enforced. 

The Office of the Transport Security (OTS) and the Aviation Security Group also deployed additional security personnel to ensure public safety. Trained K9 units will be placed also in Kalibo airport for the holiday seasons.

Monserate reminded the passengers not to ignore nitial and final checks and the queuing in airports.

“Come early in the airports for check-in and be responsible of your belongings. All passengers are also required to undergo security and safety checks,” he added. 

Monserate said they will also implement ‘no day-off, no leave policy’ among its Kalibo airport personnel to ensure booth and assistance desks are adequately manned. 

Kalibo airport is one the busiest airports in the region for local and foreign travelers. It caters to international flights to mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea, HongKong, Malaysia and Singapore and domestic flights to Manila and Cebu.
