A
buy-bust operation netted a street level value target in Banga, Aklan on
October 11.
Dave
Oquendo, 29, resident of Barangay Feliciano in Balete, Aklan was arrested for
selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer for P2,000 at around 6:35
p.m. along the Diversion Road in Barangay Mambog.
Operatives
of Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Banga municipal police
station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the sting
operation.
“One
week ang transaction namin sa kanya at under surveillance for one month. Ito ay
street level value target dahil mga kilala ng suspek ang mga customer. Dito
nagkita ang suspek na naka-motor at ating poseur buyer sa Banga kanina,” said Chief
Inspector Frensy Andrade, chief of Aklan PDEU.
Andrade
said the suspect is operating in the towns of Banga and Balete before his
arrest. He did not surrender also in Oplan Tokhang, the police anti-illegal
drugs campaign.
“Galing
dito sa Aklan ang supply niya, gumagamit ang suspek at ni-recycle niya ang
druga para masustain niya ang bisyo. Under monitoring din siya ng Balete police
kaso hindi nag surrender sa Tokhang,” Andrade added.
During
the body search, the suspect yielded his mobile phone, lighter and a bladed
weapon.
Oquendo
is temporarily detained at Banga municipal police station lock-up cell after
his arrest. He will be charged for violation of Section 5 of Article II of
Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of
2002.
