Kirk
Aisne Caldeo of Malay, Aklan snatched a bronze medal in shotput secondary boys
in the ongoing Palarong Pambansa 2018 in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

The
17-year old student of Conferey Integrated Learning School marked 13.34m in
capturing the bronze. John Rafael Lamatan of Southern Tagalog Calabarzon
(Region IV-A) took the gold in 14.22m and Michael Jude Estures of Soccsksargen
Central Mindanao (Region XII) who threw 13.64m settled for silver.
In swimming events, 13-year old Kyla Ong Soguilon, a mainstay of Regional Science High School for Region VI in Kalibo, Aklan, settled for bronze in secondary girls 100m backstroke where she clocked 1:10.43.
The gold medal went to Samantha Therese Coronel of National Capital Region who broke the 2017 record of Nicole Meah Pamintuan (1:07.12) with a 1:06.58 swim in the same event.
Bhay Maitland Newberry of Calabarzon clocked 1:07.25 for the silver medal.
Michael Gabriel Tayco Lozada of Infant Jesus Academy in Kalibo, Aklan also teamed up with Wilse Jude Azarcon (Capiz), Alexander Kryzian Quiton (Iloilo) and Carl Joseph De Emoy (Capiz) to capture the silver in elementary boys 200m medley relay final.
The Western Visayas swimmers finished the event in two minutes, 7.47 seconds. Calabarzon dominated in 2:06.54 and National Capital Region for the bronze, clocking 2:09.82.
