This was stressed by Special
Operations Officer IV / Jetty Port Administrator-designate Niven Maquirang
after his meeting with the inter-agency task force and the Police Regional
Office (PRO) of Western Visayas on April 17.
For security, Caticlan port
in mainland Malay and Cagban port in Manoc-Manoc, Boracay Island are the entry
and exit points during the six-month rehabilitation of Boracay which will start on April
26.
Maquirang said the inter-agency task force and the police agreed that only workers
in the island have to secure Workers Terminal Identification Pass (TIP)
starting April 18.
The Workers TIP
application forms are available at Caticlan and Cagban ports. The workers are
required to submit any valid government-issued identification cards and a certification
of employment from their company operating and located in Boracay Island.
The terminal pass to
workers is issued free, however, they have to comply the requirements in the
workers terminal identification pass.
Maquirang said residents
of the three barangays – Yapak, Manoc-Manoc and Balabag – are exempted to
secure the terminal identification pass. Instead, they have to present their
barangay identification cards and any valid government identification cards
with Boracay Island address before they are allowed to enter Caticlan and
Cagban ports.
A tactical office of the
Philippine National Police will also assist the residents and workers in the
ports to address Boracay entry and exit issues.
Maquirang further said boat
trips of Caticlan Boracay Transport Multi-purpose Cooperative (CBTMPC) for the Caticlan-Cagban
routes are scheduled from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the Boracay closure.
“No tourists, no terminal
and environmental fees to be collected. Media need also to coordinate with the
PNP at tactical office at jetty ports for the temporary pass,” Maquirang added.
