The Ati-Atihan festival organizer is searching for 16 candidates who will
compete for the title and the coveted crown of Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan 2016.
Albert Menez, who chairs Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi), said a Mutya candidate should be a Filipina, 15-24 years of age, single, never been married or never given birth
to a child, minimum height of 5 feet 4 inches, with pleasing
personality and of good moral character.
Application forms are
available at Kasafi office at 2nd Floor Capt. Gil M. Mijares Building, XIX
Martyrs Street in Kalibo, Aklan.
Aside from the application forms,
the new batch of candidates must submit close up and full body photos and
latest certificate of live birth authenticated by National Statistics Office, from
Monday to Friday until October 1, 2015 at Kasafi office.
Applicants below 18 years old
must also secure their parents’ consent.
Menez said the beauty hopefuls
will be screened in time for the Ati-Atihan opening salvo on October 23. Preliminary
events and competitions are also scheduled before the winners will be crowned
in the grand final of the competition next year.
Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan
pageant and coronation night will be on January 8, 2016 at Gov. Augusto B.
Legaspi Sports and Cultural Center in Kalibo, Aklan.
The pageant has been held
annually since 2011 by Kasafi in partnership with municipal government of
Kalibo and the provincial government of Aklan as one of major events of Kalibo
Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan festival.
The beauty search produced a
roster of beauties including 2015 Miss Earth Philippines-Ecotourism Jona Sweet,
2014 Mutya ng Pilipinas finalist Rosalie Arcenio and 2011 Mutya ng Pilipinas
finalist Caren Braun.
