Operatives of Aklan Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group (PAIDSOTG) recovered drugs, ammunition, firearms and drug paraphernalia in a raid on Saturday evening.
Police conducted the operation in the rented house of 37-year old Efren Villanueva in Mercedes Village, New Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan. The house is about 500 meters from the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO).

Villanueva, a native of Barangay Andagao in Kalibo, Aklan, was arrested on July 17 in a buy-bust operation in Oyo Torong Street in Barangay Poblacion by PAIDSOTG operatives.
Armed with a search warrant No. EJ-006-2015 issued by Executive Judge Marietta Homena of the Regional Trial Court in Kalibo, Aklan, the police swooped into Villanueva's rented house at about 9:30 p.m.
Recovered by operatives were used aluminum foil with residue of suspected shabu, bamboo clipper, improvised burners, improvised tooter, P2,120 cash, scissor, cigarette ash tray containing suspected shabu residue, disposable lighters and bundles of small transparent plastic sachets.
Also seized were six live ammunition of caliber 38, blow torch, two live ammunition of caliber 45, ten pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing residue of suspected shabu, three plastic sachets containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, a caliber 38, one big plastic containing undetermined amount of shabu, a live ammunition of caliber 22.

Senior Police Officer 4 Vengie Repedro of APPO Explosives and Ordnance Disposal Team said they also recovered an M67 fragmentation hand grenade in the rented house of Villanueva.
The raiding team was composed of elements from PAIDSOTG led by Senior Inspector Bernard Ufano, Provincial Intelligence Branch, Kalibo police station. APPO Explosives and Ordnance Disposal Team and the APPO K-9 Unit.
Villanueva is facing charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Acts of 2002.
