PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II turned over the ten ambulances to nine municipalities and the Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital at the Aklan Provincial Trade Hall.

Rojas also led the blessing of Foton View ambulances for the towns of Ibajay, Nabas, Libacao, Balete, Numancia, Malay, Madalag, New Washington, Altavas and the Aklan provincial hospital.  The distribution of ambulances in Aklan is part of PCSO's Ambulance Donation program which aims to equip municipalities and cities across the country with rescue and ambulance vehicles.

Joining the distribution of ambulances were PCSO board of director Francisco Joaquin III, Aklan vice governor Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo, Malay mayor John Yap, Nabas mayor James Solanoy, Libacao mayor Vincent Navarosa, Altavas mayor Denny Refol, Ibajay mayor Ma. Lourdes Miraflores, Madalag mayor Alfonso Gubatina,  Numancia mayor Jozyl Isidore Templonuevo and the Aklan Sangguniang Panlalawigan members.

“The first time I visited the province of Aklan was the turnover of check to Governor Florencio Miraflores and the second time, the opening of PCSO branch,” Rojas said.

Last March 22, 2014, Rojas also turned over P5.321 million in assistance funds for typhoon Yolanda victims. It was a percentage of lotto ticket sales during the "Pamaskong Handog ng PCSO: Nine Days of Christmas" in December 2013.

Rojas said the ambulances are crucial in the operations of the public hospital and municipal health offices for the speedy transport of patients. He also urged the public to support the programs of PCSO by buying Lotto tickets.

PCSO has a branch office in Kalibo, Aklan to bring the government agency’s health and medical services, community programs nearer to the people.
