Police Superintendent Danilo delos Santos succeeds Senior Inspector Frensy Andrade as officer-in-charge of Boracay Tourist Assistance Center (BTAC).

Delos Santos, the former head of Aklan Provincial Intelligence Branch, confirmed that he will take over the leadership of BTAC next week. He accepted the new assignment on July 28 from acting Aklan police provincial director Senior Superintendent Iver Apellido.

Andrade served for six months when he was assigned on February 6, 2015 as officer-in-charge of BTAC.

Last July 15, police chiefs of the capital town of Kalibo and Tangalan have been relieved and replaced also by Apellido.

The new BTAC chief said he will coordinate with the local, barangay officials and force multipliers in the anti-criminality campaign in the island.

Delos Santos also vowed to make the safety of tourists and residents his top priorities. He also urged his men to work hard to solve crimes and to bring the best services for all of stakeholders and tourists in Boracay.

The island has 100-strong BTAC personnel tasked to secure the three barangays of Yapak, Manoc-Manoc and Balabag.

Delos Santos, who hails from Iloilo City, also served as chief of San Rafael police station last year and Molo police station in Iloilo in 2009 before his assignment in Aklan. He was also assigned in the towns of Estancia and San Dionisio.
