How do they get drugs in Aklan jail? People from the outside bring them in.
Unfortunately, a
Swiss national was arrested on Friday afternoon after he was accused of smuggling
contraband to an inmate in Aklan provincial jail in Nalook, Kalibo, Aklan.
A
jail guard of Aklan Rehabilitation Center (ARC) seized a dark substance suspected
to be marijuana hashish from 45-year old Kidd Bernhard Kiefer, resident of Barangay
Balabag, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.
Hashish
is a potent form of cannabis (marijuana) produced by collecting and compressing
trichomes, the most potent material from cannabis plants. Marijuana is a green,
brown or gray mixture of dried, shredded leaves, stems, seeds and flowers of
the hemp plant Cannabis sativa.
During
the arrest, police also confiscated the mobile phone of Kiefer containing text
messages of drug transactions with inmate Carlos San Jose when the former entered
the jail at around 1:12 p.m. Friday.
San
Jose is accused of raping a Briton national in Boracay Island on January 2013. He is presently detained at the ARC jail facility.
“Dati
niya nga cook si Carlos. Ku buean it Marso imaw katapusan nga nag-adto iya sa jail
ru foreign national. Masyadong strikto ro pag-rikisa sa mga ga bisita sa ARC
kaya na-aresto si Kiefer,” said Teddy Esto, ARC jail warden.
Kiefer
is being held at Kalibo police station pending the filing of charges for violations
of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Acts of 2002.
Meanwhile,
the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (PAIDSOTG) arrested
Andy Protacio in a buy-bust operation on June 4 at around 11:20 p.m. along
Roxas Avenue in Kalibo, Aklan.
The
suspect yielded a sachet of suspected shabu, P1,000 marked money and a mobile
phone.
