To better respond to crime incidents and disasters, Secretary of Interior and Government Mar Roxas said all municipalities in Aklan will receive one new patrol jeep for police operations.

Roxas assured town mayors, regardless of party affiliation, that he will distribute patrol jeeps in Aklan to be used for crime and emergency situations.

“Tanan nga banwa, wala gin-pinli, wala pulitika, bilog na Aklan mahatagan sang brand new police patrol jeep. Sa sina na pamaagi, mapa-ayo pa gid naton ang anti-criminality para mas mapadamu pa gid naton ang turista na amu ang gahatag sa aton sang pangitan-an kag trabaho diri,” Roxas said on Saturday as he spoke to town mayors and supporters in Ibajay, Aklan.

The multi-role patrol jeeps, which cost the national government P1.3 billion, are also distributed in other provinces for law enforcement, disaster response operations and to address issues on peace and order.

Roxas. during the distribution of checks for Recovery Assistance on Yolanda (RAY-II) Fund, was introduced by Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores as the “next President of the Philippines.”

Miraflores credited the interior secretary for the Bottom-Up Budgeting projects that benefited communities and the people in Aklan.

“Since EDSA revolution, a town is receiving bigger assistance from DILG and the national government to the municipalities and barangays in Aklan under the Bottom-Up Budgeting program, which is a brainchild program of Secretary Mar Roxas,” Miraflores stressed.

Roxas also urged local leaders in Aklan to help each other to secure a better future.

“Magbinuligay kita, mag-tingub kita, para sa mainuswagon, malinong kag maayo nga paalabuton,” he said.
