Lakan winner to represent Aklan in Misters of the Philippines

Former Lakan it Kalibo Ati-Atihan second runner-up will represent the province of Aklan in Misters of the Philippines pageant this September. 

The 21-year old Elvin Fanila Tiel hails from Dumatad, Tangalan, Aklan. He took the crown of Ginoong Filipinas Expo World 2014 last May.

Tiel, a graduate of marine transportation course at Aklan Polytechnic College in 2013, is one of the 26 candidates vying for the title of Misters of the Philippines. The male pageant will be held on September 7 at the Grand Theatre of the University of Makati.   

After he graduated, Tiel opted to pursue ramp and commercial modeling in Manila. He is now residing in Bacoor City, Cavite.

Tiel, who stands 5”10’,  loves cooking, hiking,  playing basketball, dancing, singing and watching movies. 

“Kunta maradyo o masayran man nanda na may taga Aklan nga magrerepresent sa Misters of the Philippines. It would be a dream come true for me if I will bring home the title,” he said.

Barely three weeks into the finals, Elvin asked also his kasimanwas in Aklan for support and prayers.

“As a boy growing up in our town, one of my aspirations is joining a prestigious pageant that would enable me to compete in the international level. I want to represent our province since I don't think there has ever been a candidate who has represented Aklan in the past.  I have high hopes that this pageant would make me a better person and would make me persevere and give me the proper discipline that would make me successful in life,” Tiel quoted as saying. 

This September, four gorgeous men will be crowned Mister International Philippines, Mister Tourism International Philippines, Mister Model International Philippines and Mister Global Philippines. They will represent the country in male pageants in the world. 

Candidates from Batangas, Ilocos Norte, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cebu, Aklan, Siquijor, Bohol, Semirara Island, Samar, National Capital Region and international Filipino communities from United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom of Great Britain and the United States of America will be competing.

The competition is presented by Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc. (PEPPS).
