Fresh from the success of its launching on February 15 in Barangay Alas-as in Madalag, Aklan, the much-needed and collective services of ‘Gobyerno sa Baryo’ will be delivered closer to the upland communities, this time, in Malinao, Aklan.

Among the services offered include free legal consultation, social welfare, veterinary, feeding activities, public employment, engineering, agricultural and fishery services, medical consultation and dental services, feeding activities and the Provincial Treasurer’s Office services.

The ‘Gobyerno sa Baryo’ also tapped partner agencies such as National Statistics Office (NSO), Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE), Philippine Army, Philippine National Police and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for their expanded range of services.

‘Gobyerno sa Baryo’ was conceived by Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores and Aklan Rep. Teodorico Haresco, Jr. to make national and provincial government agencies more accessible to the people, especially in far-flung barangays. It is also aimed to develop rapport among barangays, municipal and provincial officials.

With ‘Gobyerno sa Baryo’ coming to visit the barangays, residents were able to avail of government services at less cost.

The local officials also established better relations through barangays immersion and deepened their commitment for public service by enhancing their capacity to respond to barangays problems.
