DTI-Aklan sets up assistance centers in Yolanda hit towns

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Aklan partnered with local governments in establishing business assistance centers across the province of Aklan.

The program is designed to help the business sector and small, medium enterprises to recover in Typhoon Yolanda affected towns.
DTI-Aklan has set up BACs in Libacao, Altavas and Numancia and four more towns of Balete, New Washington, Batan and Banga from March 19 to 25.

It targets to establish BACS in all 17 municipalities in Aklan by end of April.

DTI-Aklan provincial director Engr. Diosdado Cadena said being an extension office of DTI-Aklan the BACs will provide technical assistance and other services and needs of the business sector in all municipalities affected by Typhoon Yolanda.

Meanwhile, DTI-Aklan also held an Info Session and Workshops/Product Consultations on Creating and Managing Market Driven Products and Establishing Markets last March 6 to 7 in Kalibo, Aklan in partnership with Hugod Aklanon Producers Association.

The seminar targets to enhance the competitiveness of medium, small and micro enterprises and the market demands of Aklan products.
