BFP-Kalibo intensifies fire safety campaign

In line with the Fire Prevention Month celebration, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) here has urged the public to observe fire safety measures to avoid fire incidents in their offices or homes.

BFP-Kalibo Fire Inspector Donnie Torre said the bureau will conduct information campaign to promote public awareness and to step up fire and safety inspections on buildings required to apply for municipal permits.

Torre said they will also inspect boarding houses to make sure these are safe for students or boarders.

BFP-Kalibo is serving the towns of Madalag, Banga, Libacao and Kalibo. It has currently four fire trucks and only two of these are serviceable.

So far, BFP-Kalibo recorded six fire incidents in Kalibo and two incidents in the town of Banga from January to February this year. No one 

The month-long program has its theme, “Isulong ang Kaunlaran, Sunog ay Iwasan,Kaalaman at Pag-iingat ang Kailangan" for this year’s fire prevention month.

In case of fire and other emergency, Torre said the public should call the hotline 143.
