The Philippine National Police (PNP) will receive motorcycles from festival organizer Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi).

Two brand new two-stroke Yamaha motorcycles worth P130,000 will be distributed to Kalibo police station to boost its patrol operations and police visibility and mobility.

The turn-over of symbolic key will be held after the Monday flag raising ceremony of Kalibo municipal employees at Kalibo Magsaysay Park on March 31.

Kasafi chairman Albert Menez will grace the symbolic turn-over along with Kasafi volunteers.

“The motorcycle units would augment the patrol vehicles of the Kalibo police to hasten police mobilization,” Menez said.

Funds for the donated motorcycles came from Ati-Atihan festival income generated by Kasafi this year, said Menez.

Kalibo mayor William Lachica, Kalibo vice mayor Madeline Regalado, Kalibo police chief Superintendent Aden Lagradante, Kalibo deputy chief of police Inspector Benny Jones Mendoza and the Sangguniang Bayan members are expected to attend the simple ceremony.

Kasafi, in its four years of existence, has since provided the Kalibo police station with logistical support to enhance the capability of the police force.

It has also committed to complement the efforts of PNP and its force multipliers to effectively perform their duties and to maintain peace and order.
