Media fraternity leaders to grace Kapihan sa Aklan on February 28

Louie T. Arriola, president of the Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PAPI) and Allan Sison, president of the Federation of the Provincial Press Clubs of the Philippines, Inc. (FPPCPI), will lead participants in the re-launching of Kapihan Sa Aklan on Friday, February 28 at NVC Carmen Hotel in Kalibo, Aklan

The new Kapihan, a media forum, will be regularly conducted every Saturday, starting March 1, 2014 at the NVC  Carmen Hotel, under the auspices of the Kapihan Sa Aklan and Aklan  Media Forum, both are duly registered as media  entities affiliated with PAPI and FPPCPI.

 Among the other mediamen who are expected to join the members of the Press of Aklan are Danny Fajardo , editor of Panay News and Hublas; Andy L. Manatad of Cebu media group, and PAPI vice president for the Visayas; Joseph Punay, FPPC vice president for Luzon; and, broadcaster Andy Vital.

The new press forum will be under the direction by its organizing and advisory council with Juan P. Dayang, founding chairman; Atty. Allen Salas Quimpo, president, Northwestern Visayan Colleges, chairman; Dr. Ambrosio R. Villorente, former president, Aklan Press Club; vice chairman; Dr. Danilo E. Abayon, president, Aklan State University; Atty. Ronquillo C Tolentino, former president, Aklan Press Club and Aklan vice governor; Odon S. Bandiola, former  president, Aklan Press Club; Butz  J. Maquinto, station manager, Barangay 92.9 DyRU Super Radio; a priest to be assigned by Kalibo Bishop Jose Corazon Tala-oc.
