Judiciary II, Charlie Media pace bowling tourney, Aklan PNP in solo third

KALIBO, Aklan – Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Aklan bounced back from a sorry loss against Judiciary II by beating the bowlers of Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO), 567-545, in the 2011 Vice Governor Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo Aklan Media Bowling Cup last night.

Flosemer Chris Gonzales top-scored with 131 to lead the IBP-Aklan while Shermaine Atienza knocked down 124, Niflem Meren had 119, Brian Calizo added 104 and Giovanni Paul Gomez wound up 89.

SPO4 Benny Jones Mendoza led the APPO with 131 pinfalls, PO3 James Bantique had 117, PO3 Johnny Alejaga rolled 95, SPO2 Luzbella Isada chalked up 108 and PO3 Darius Padilla had 84.

In the much-awaited match, Ramon Manuel Felipe Mayor found his form to lead the Judiciary II to its third straight victories in the last four outings against Alpha Media, 705-578. Mayor took the match easily with 178 against Jethro Laserna’s 127.

Danilo Yap of Judiciary II also rolled a score of 157 over the 105 of Louie Aguirre from Aklan Cable Television Company. Greg Tanieza had 147 against the 107 of Ron Bautista from DyYM CBIS Hot FM Katribu.

Ronel Barrida of RGMA DyRU Super Radyo beat Judge Lollie Ureta-Villaruel, 134-122, in their match while Jhinkie Jane Balairos of Love Radio Kalibo also outplayed Alvin Mindanao, 111-101.

Meanwhile, Judiciary I had 676 pinfalls against the 535 pinfalls of winless Aklan Photographic Society (APS).

George Wendell Villanueva tallied 151, Roderick Robillo contributed 145 pinfalls, Nicoaron Roldan had 141, Cris Gubatina chipped in 121 and Marissa Peralta had 118.

Joel Juliano powered the APS with 138 followed by Paul John Mirto with 117, Mark Leslie Laguna (101), Ramel Buncalan (103) and Shiela Tamado (76).


Charlie Media also continued its winning run with four straight victories, this time, against IBP-Aklan, 578-494.

Ronnel Irodestan of DyYM CBIS Hot FM Katribu had a game-best 133, Lucy Villaruel of IBC DyRG Budyong with 121, Hagbong dela Cruz of the Aklan Reporter contributed 115, Marlon Salvador of Kalibo Cable Television Network had 107 and Arnel Relampago of Love Radio Kalibo added 104.

Brian Calizo led the IBP Aklan with 121, Niflem Meren (110), Flosemer Chris Gonzales (98), Shermaine Atienza (88) and Ervie Taytayon (77).

Other results: Aklan Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) scored its first victory in five outings with a thrilling 540-535, over Aklan Police Provincial Office. Ray dela Pena led the Aklan SP with 140 pinfalls, Odon Bandiola (127), SP member Raymar Rebaldo (125) and Ely Alvarez (108).

Judiciary I also beat Bravo Media, 589-530. Roderick Robillo came way with 147, Cris Gubatina had 134, George Wendell Villanueva (122), Judge Ronaldo Exmundo (116) and Melinda Jalbuna (70) for Judiciary I.

Brechyl Rapio of RGMA DyRU Super Radyo had 155 for Bravo Media, Rodelio Lomibao of Bay Radio Kalibo (121), Arnel Arrieta, Jr. of Radio Boracay (116) and Doddie Balairos of RGMA DyRU Super Radyo (98) for its first loss in the last four games.
