Negros, Iloilo swimmers bag 15 golds, lone gold for Aklan

Negros and Iloilo tankers are dominating the 16 swimming events of the 2011 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet at Iloilo Sports Complex Swimming Pool yesterday.
At the start of the swimming events, Negros topped the competition with 13-8-4 gold-silver-bronze haul in the elementary and secondary divisions.
Leading the charge for Negros were Luis Vincent Evangelista, Mark Arian Juson and Christianne Andrea Jerez (elementary), Joshua Balinas, Hillary Jovette Tan and Alfred Valentin Rojo in the secondary.

Evangelista and Jerez have two golds each in 200 meters freestyle and 100 meters backstroke while Balinas and Tan clinched the golds in 100 meters backstroke and Rojo contributed gold in 200 meters butterfly.
Iloilo team salvaged golds in 4x50M medley relay in the elementary boys and secondary girls.

Isabella Selyn Ibarreta of Aklan triumphed in 50 meters butterfly in elementary girls.

She also bagged bronze medals in 100 meters backstroke and 200 meters freestyle. Aklan's relay team also won two bronzes in 4x50M medley relay in elementary and secondary girls.
