BY BOY RYAN B. ZABAL

BORACAY - Police nabbed a 24-year old suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation on Friday morning in the island of Boracay.
PO2 Nida Gregas, Information Officer of the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO), said joint operatives of the Boracay Special Tourist Protection Office (BSTPO) and the Aklan Provincial Intelligence Branch apprehended Anthony Baclor, native of Rizal, Pala-Pala, Iloilo City and residing at Barangay Balabag here.
Confiscated from Baclor were four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu, cellphone and P500 marked money.
Investigator PO3 Rezie Bulanon said the buy-bust operation, at around 11:30 a.m. Friday, was conducted after more than one week of surveillance of the suspect's activities.
Baclor was detained at the BSTPO lock-up after his arrest, the police said.
He will be charged on Monday for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002, at the Provincial Prosecutor's Office in the capital town of Kalibo.
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) Chief Superintendent Cipriano Querol, Jr. earlier said that Boracay Island may be used as transshipment point of illegal drug activities being a popular destination for foreigners and local tourists.
