KALIBO, Aklan - At least nine candidates of the 2011 Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan were already screened by festival organizer Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi) for the beauty pageant on January 5, 2011.
KALIBO, Aklan - At least nine candidates of the 2011 Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan were already screened by festival organizer Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi) for the beauty pageant on January 5, 2011.
Contestants must be single ladies from 15 to 22 years old, with a minimum height of 5'5', an Aklanon or born to Aklanon parents, and with good moral character. Aspiring beauty queens may secure applications at the Kasafi office until November 30 for the final screening.
Kasafi chairman Albert Menez said contestants vying for the coveted crown will be presented to the members of the media and sponsors next month.
The media presentation and radio tour of the gorgeous beauties from all over the province of Aklan on December 15 is one of the highlights of the month-long activities of the Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan.
Prior to the media presentation, Kasafi has lined up activities such as workshops for beauty pageant contestants on December 4 and school tours on December 6 to 10.
Menez said the much-awaited talent competition will be held on December 23 at the Kalibo Pastrana Park before the candidates proceed to the famed island of Boracay for their beach pictorial on December 27.
Before the pageant, all candidates will be billeted at the Ati-Atihan County Inn. A special motorcade in the major streets of Kalibo is also scheduled on January 4, the organizers said.
Menez stressed that prizes and special awards await the winners of the January 5, 2011 pageant to be held at the Gov. Augusto B. Legaspi Sports Complex in the capital town of Kalibo. The winners of the Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan will be crowned on January 13, 2011 at the Kalibo Magsaysay Park during the Reenactment of Barter of Panay and Balikbayan night.
