Aklan SP: Four Tibyog Akean reelectionists retain slots in Eastern side

The provincial board of canvassers proclaimed the Aklan Sangguniang Panlalawigan members elected in the eastern side of Aklan on Thursday morning. KALIBO, Aklan - Four Tibyog Akean reelectionists retained their positions in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Eastern side in the official count of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Nemesio Neron mustered 57,411 votes for the top spot followed by Daisy Sucro-Briones with 54,425 votes, who are both running for Lakas-Kampi-Tibyog.
Three-termer Kalibo mayor Raymar Rebaldo of Bagong Bayan-Nacionalista Party and incumbent Jean Rodriquez of Lakas-Kampi-Tibyog are third and fourth, with 52,795 and 49,092 votes, respectively.
Reelectionist Rodson Mayor of Lakas-Kampi-Tibyog Akean gained the upper hand with 47,659 votes over three-termer Kalibo councilor Lilian Quimpo-Tirol of Lakas-Kampi-Liberal Party with 44,352 or a comfortable margin of 3,307 votes, for the fifth place.
Former SP member Santiago Regalado of Nacionalista Party is in seventh place with 30,762 votes. Balete vice mayor Rizal Rodriquez, Jr. of Nacionalista Party is at eighth place with 28,518 votes.
Alita Venus of Nacionalista Party in ninth place with 23,031 votes and Partidong ng Masang Pilipino candidate Vicente Pador in 10th place with 19,682 votes.
Two-termer Aklan Governor Carlito Marquez of Lakas-Kampi-Tibyog Akean led the three-way gubernatorial race with 91,342 votes in the eastern side against the 20,221 votes of Leovigildo Mationg of Lapiang Manggagawa. Independent candidate Anthony Acevedo had 2,220 votes.
Lakas-Kampi-Tibyog Akean incumbent congressman Florencio Miraflores is uncontested with 94,547 votes.
Aklan Vice Governor Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo of Nacionalista Party dominated in the eastern side with 74,132 votes versus the 29,014 votes of former SP member Roberto Garcia, Jr., who is running under Partido ng Masang Pilipino.
Comelec Aklan completed the canvassing of votes at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan session hall after receiving the final results from the towns of Libacao and Madalag on Wednesday night.
