KALIBO, Aklan - Alpha Media and pre-tournament pick Judiciary I begin their quest for bowling supremacy when they take on separate opponents at the start of the Vice Governor Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo Aklan Media Bowling Cup, now on its third year, on Monday afternoon at Q-Zone Bowling Center.
Judiciary I of Cris Gubatina, Wendell Villanueva, Greg Tañeza, Nicoaron Roldan, Suzette Salvador, Efren Galvan, Sammy de Pedro, Giovanni Paul Gomez and Judge Ronaldo Exmundo plunges into action against the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-Aklan in the opening game of the annual bowling cup.
IBP-Aklan will lean on the likes of Flosemer Chris Gonzales, Christine dela Cruz, Bryan Calizo, Ervie Taytayon, Victor Tesorero, Niflem Meren, Sharmaine Atienza, Prosecutor Reynaldo Peralta, Jr. and Ricardo Ibarreta, Jr.
Alpha Media of Joselito Edwin Ramos (Philippine Information Agency), Ron Bautista of CBIS Hot FM, Alwin dela Cruz of IBC DyRG Budyong, Jethro Laserna of Aklan Media Forum, Arbelle Zausa of DyIN Bombo Radyo, Ronnel Barrida of RGMA DyRU Super Radyo, Jhinkie Jane Balairos of Love Radio Kalibo, Ramil Tirazona of RMN DyKR and Louie Aguirre of Aklan Cable TV will also test the mettle of the Aklan Police Provincial Office-Philippine National Police (PNP) at 6:30 p.m.
Insp. Belshazzar Villanoche, PO2 Nida Gregas, PO3 Rollie Morales, PO1 Don Briones, SPO3 Benny Jones Mendoza, PO3 James Bantique, PO3 Maricel Guevarra, NUP Wilyn Magsisi and SPO1 Ma. Rosela Buenvenida are members of the Aklan PNP bowling team for this weeklong tournament.
Judiciary II, which retained its core led by Judge Lollie Ureta-Villaruel, Alvin Mindanao, Danilo Yap, Ramon Manuel Felipe-Mayor, Marissa Peralta, Roderick Robillo, Steve Policarpio, Hernan Florencio Flores and Melinda Jalbuna, is also seeing action to begin their title bid.
Bravo Media, backstopped by Odon Bandiola and William Arguelles (Aklan Media Forum), Pempe Dulce Besario and Adorada Reynaldo of CBIS Hot FM, Rolly Herrera and Jujet Reyes of IBC DyRG Budyong, Ronnie Billones of DyIN Bombo Radyo, Doddie Balairos of RGMA DyRU Super Radyo and Arnel Arrieta, Jr. of Radyo Boracay tackles the Judiciary II at 5 p.m.
Capping the opening day is the bowling match between Bravo Media and Charlie Media of Winston Carillo of Western Visayas Explorer, Marlon Salvador and Arnel Relampago of Kalibo Cable TV, Lucy Villaruel of IBC DyRG Budyong, Hagbong dela Cruz and Claribel dela Cruz of Aklan Reporter, Ronnel Irodestan of CBIS Hot FM and Joemer Soriano of DyIN Bombo Radyo at 6:30 p.m.
The bowling cup opens with a short ceremony at 4 p.m. with a motorcade of media organizations and supporters to jump start the Aklan Press Freedom Week celebration from April 19 to 25. The competition is supervised by Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PAPI) Director for Visayas Boy Ryan Zabal.
