Aklan PNP, Judiciary II upset bowling opponents

KALIBO, Aklan – Aklan Police Provincial Office-Philippine National Police bowling team fashioned out the most convincing win, 523-518, over winless Charlie Media in the 3rd Vice Governor Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo Aklan Media Bowling Cup at Q-Zone Bowling Center last night.
SPO3 Benny Jones Mendoza led the attack of Aklan PNP with 123 pinfalls, PO2 Nida Gregas had 118, PO1 Don Briones tallied 104, NUP Wilyn Magsisi registered 93 pinfalls and PO3 James Bantique finished 85.
Charlie Media (0-2) anchored by Ronnel Irodestan of CBIS Hot FM made 132 pinfalls, Arnel Relampago of Kalibo Cable TV notched 110, Joemer Soriano of DyIN Bombo Radyo had 97 pinfalls, Marlon Salvador of Kalibo Cable TV with 95 and Lucy Villaruel of IBC DyRG Budyong hammered 84 pinfalls.
Also pulling off a masterful win was the Alpha Media against the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-Aklan, 583-477. Joselito Edwin Ramos of the Philippine Information Agency exploded with 194 pinfalls, Jethro Laserna of Aklan Media Forum scored 114, Alwin dela Cruz of IBC DyRG had 110, Jhinkie Jane Balairos of Love Radio Kalibo chipped in 91 and Ramil Tirazona of RMN DyKR wound up 75 pinfalls for tournament-leading Alpha Media.
IBP-Aklan, bannered by Flosemer Chris Gonzales, dished out 129 pinfalls, Niflem Meren came away with 115, Ervie Taytayon had 88, Bryan Calizo added 82 and Sharmaine Atienza scored 63 pinfalls.
Meanwhile, Judiciary I kept its bid alive with a stunning 639-529 win over Bravo Media with Cris Gubatina posting a game-high 175 pinfalls while Nicoaron Roldan added 140.
Wendell Villanueva torched the lanes with 119 pinfalls, Giovanni Paul Gomez had 102 and Melinda Jalbuna contributed 103 to help end the two-game winning streak of Bravo Media.
Arnel Arrieta, Jr. of Radyo Boracay scored 149 pinfalls, Odon Bandiola of Aklan Media Forum had 117, Pempe Dulce Besario tallied 100, Ronnie Billones of DyIN Bombo Radyo hauled 89 and Doddie Balairos of RGMA DyRU Super Radyo posted 74 pinfalls for the Bravo Media.
IBP Aklan suffered another heartbreaking loss to Judiciary II, 457-451 to remain winless in the seven team bowling cup together with Charlie Media. Steve Policarpio led the Judiciary II with 115 pinfalls, Hernan Florencio Cortes contributed 111, Alvin Mindanao tallied 90, Roderick Robillo added 89 and Judge Lollie Ureta-Villaruel closed out 52 pinfalls.
Ervie Taytayon topped the IBP-Aklan with 114 pinfalls, Bryan Calizo added 103, Niflem Meren had 92, Flosemer Chris Gonzales tallied 78 and Sharmaine Atienza struggled with 64 pinfalls.
In today’s matches, IBP Aklan is determined to beat the upset-conscious Aklan PNP team to keep their own semifinals aspiration while surging Alpha Media battles fancied Charlie Media at 5 p.m.
Aklan PNP will also test the mettle of Judiciary II and Charlie Media battles Judiciary I at 6:30 p.m.
