KALIBO, Aklan - Aklan Rep, Florencio Miraflores said the incumbent mayors had pledged their total support to the candidacy of former Defense Secretary and Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential standard bearer Gilberto 'Gibo' Teodoro, Jr. in the May 10 elections.
While in Aklan, Teodoro graced the 2010 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet opening ceremonies, hosted by the ‘amazing and action-packed Aklan’ at the refurbished Aklan Sports Complex in Barangay Calangcang, Makato, Aklan, which was attended by more than 5,000 athletes, officials, spectators and guests from all over the region.
The presidential bet was practically mobbed by his supporters during his visit where he was met by local mayors of the province - Charito Navarosa of Libacao, Edgar Peralta of New Washington, Ceciron Cawaling of Malay, Quezon Labindao of Buruanga, Elverita Templonuevo of Numancia, Victor Fernandez of Lezo, Rex Gubatina of Madalag, Kathryne Refol of Altavas, Delfina Ramos of Batan, Romeo Dalisay of Nabas, Maria Lourdes Miraflores of Ibajay, Gene Fuentes of Tangalan, Dominador Ilio, Jr. of Malinao and Ramon Legaspi, Jr. of Makato, Aklan.
Majority of Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan and several vice mayors in the province from Tibyog Akean also support the candidacy of Gibo. The administration candidate also urged the Filipino voters to focus on the qualifications and platform of government of the candidates for the presidency as he picked up support from the local politicians seeking reelection in his sortie.
Governor Carlito Marquez, for his part, said the Lakas-Kampi bet has secured the backing of local chief executives in Aklan while Antique Governor Salvacion Zaldivar-Perez, who chairs the Regional Development Council for Western Visayas, also thrown her support for Gibo.
"We have three mayors without opponents - Tangalan, New Washington and Nabas - and even Congressman Miraflores has no opponent in the coming May polls. Gibo has a clear platform of government that could enhance our progress and development as a province,” Marquez said in a press conference attended by local officials and tri-media in Aklan at Cafe Latte in Barangay Andagao, this town.
Marquez, a two-time governor since 2004, stressed that he is confident of his victory on May 10, 2010 local elections against his two political opponents.

    Hello,

I understand the current position of the local executives. But comes election time and if pre election survey shows Gibo having no chinaman chance, rather than waste your votes on a non winner, the local executives of Aklan are welcome to support Noynoy Aquino for President. I am sure many in Aklan will be proud of you, local executives, if you support Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas.

    Regards,

G1bo is the only candidate who speaks about RECONCILIATION. we cannot move forward as a country if we don't work together.

I will vote for G1bo because he has attainable goals and visions for the Philippines. Please do not vote based on winnability and popularity. God bless us all.

You don't waste your vote on voting who you think, knows what to do to the country and know how to accomplish his platforms and not just Promises that are often left behind. The so called "wise voting", were you vote because of winnability or survey based is absurd, and should be called "no-conviction" voting. What we say in Filipino WALANG PANININDIGAN". Vote with conviction!

  5. What a stupid comments from the person above(Elmar). You don't seem to understand what you're talking about. You are so engrossed with your candidate even though he is not qualified to become the President. Are you thinking? Noynoy is not a competent leader, a mediocre,an average student/congressman/senator. And a vindictive one. How can he be so sure to lead this nation when he has not even passed one(1) single bill that has been put into law.

What a stupid conclusion. If you believe that having 1,800 respondents from the surveys of FALSE ( Pulse) Asia and SWS is enough gauge that your man is going to win.hey...you must be hallucinating. Tell it to the marines!

Why dont you look at the independent surveys done by Campaign and Images Group commissioned by UK and US companies operating here in the Philippines, where the company even enumerated how many people ( 5,100) they've asked. What cluster of people, what age bracket,in which area, etc. Unlike these two(sws, pulse) they cannot even provide us, as to how did they come up with their survey results.

Nakakatawa ka..kahit ako na lang magisa ang boboto. I wont vote for ABNOY.

Mahiya ka naman sa sinsabi mo at maawa ka sa mga Filipino.

Sorry...NOYNOY is nothing...he can be a Sales Representative perhaps not the President of the Republic. Also Elmar, huwag mo kaming gawing tanga!...kung BOBO ka.Huwag mo akong isasama.

    2. The ONLY candidate who speaks of RECONCILIATION.
    3. The ONLY candidate who does not offer 100% solutions (no promises, realistic answers).
    4. The ONLY candidate who has clear platforms and actions of government....
    5. The ONLY candidate who does not appeal to emotions just to gain vote.

    PLATAPORMA 2010-2016:
