Dayang inducts PAPI fellows in Boracay

BORACAY- - Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PAPI) national president Juan P. Dayang inducted the new officers of PAPI Press Congress Fellowship (PCF) at Boracay Terraces Resort on Sunday evening.
PAPI PCF is headed by Marsha Ledesma, Reynaldo Lirios (vice president for NCR), Nito Meneses (vice president for Luzon), Nestor Abrematea (vice president for Visayas) and Angelina Lim (vice president for Mindanao).
Other officers inducted are secretary Manuel Flores, treasurer Eladio Perfecto, press relations officer Jex Lucero and auditor Rizal Policarpio. The board of directors are Laorenz Maquinto, Alfonso Blanco, Gilbert Monge, Maximo Borte, Jessie Parion and Raymond Sandoval.
Luc Helgen and Connie Helgen of Red Coconut Beach Resort, broadcaster Ardy Araneta Batoy, Ruchanie Gelito-Gadon of Willy's Beach Resort, Philippine Consul to Korea Jed Dayang, Boracay Foundation Inc. (BFI) president Loubell Cann and executive director Virgilita Sarabia also graced the induction and fellowship.
Ledesma holds the distinction as the first president of PAPI PCF after she was elected during the National Press Congress from December 11 to 13, 2008 in Baguio City.
PAPI, a national organization of publishers, editors, reporters and other media practitioners, is also holding a media conference in Palawan and Butuan City to sustain its press freedom advocacy and programs for the community journalists.
Dayang, who hails from Aklan, challenged the PAPI PCF to focus on strengthening the media organization into a vital partner of the community press in the countryside.
