Aklan PNP to deploy new police inspectors
BY BOY RYAN B. ZABAL / Panay News

KALIBO, Aklan - Nine new police inspectors will be assigned to replace acting chiefs of police, according to Aklan provincial police director Senior Supt. Clarence Guinto.
Those towns affected by the deployment of new police officers, among others, are the towns of Malay, Ibajay, Tangalan, Numancia, Libacao and Balete.
"In compliance of the directive of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) will be sending the police inspectors in the field to augment the operations of the town's police stations," Guinto said.
The towns cited are presently headed by Senior Police Officer 4 (SPO4) following the career advancement trainings of commissioned police officers last month.
Guinto stressed the APPO will also prioritize the deployment of additional 23 Police Officer 1 for Boracay and Kalibo police stations for the next two weeks.
"As our share in the tourism development and security, the Boracay Special Tourist Protection Office (BSTPO) will be augmented by new uniformed personnel considering the influx of tourists this Lenten break," he said.
Kalibo has 39 PNP personnel while the BSTPO under Supt. Arnold Ardiente has 88 personnel, including 20 field-training cops deployed to secure the foreign and local tourists in the island.
