KALIBO, Aklan – At least seven members of the Aklan Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) have attended 40 session days last year, according to an official tally of attendance and sponsored resolutions report.
Of the 45 regular and two special sessions in 2008, SP member Plaridel Morania was present in all sessions followed by Vice Governor and presiding officer Gabrielle Calizo and third-termer SP member Jose Yap with 46.
SP members Daisy Briones and Ramon Gelito followed them with 44 sessions present, Selywn Ibarreta (43), Rodson Mayor (42), Gerick Templonuevo (40), neophyte Nemesio Neron and ex-officio member Wilbert Ariel Igoy of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) with 39 each.
The summary of attendance also showed Teody Masangya, Sr. of the Liga ng mga Barangay (Association of Barangay Councils) attended 38 sessions. Jean Rodriguez and Jun Rey Tordecillas of the Sangguniang Kabataan had an identical 33 session days and Pedro Garcia with 19.
Morania also ranked first among the most productive SP members in terms of resolutions sponsored with 30 out of 105 total resolutions followed by Mayor (18), Ibarreta (9) and Igoy with seven resolutions.
Masangya and Tordecillas, who sit as SP ex-officio members, had sponsored four resolutions each. SP members Neron and Gelito had six resolutions followed by Garcia, Yap, Templonuevo, Briones and Rodriquez with four resolutions and Calizo with one resolution.
Morania also co-sponsored six resolutions and two ordinances followed by Neron and Mayor with two resolutions. Ibarreta, Garcia, Templonuevo and Gelito had one resolution co-sponsored. Ibarreta and Tordecillas also sponsored one ordinance each with Morania and Mayor co-sponsored two ordinances each.
Masangya made eight official mission followed by Rodriquez with six and Igoy with four.
Garcia topped the list of having the most number of absences with nine and had to skip sessions at least 14 times for being sick. Neron with registered five absences, Tordecillas with four and Igoy, Templonuevo and Mayor made two absences each.
