DOT: Boracay fully-booked now
BY ERWIN AMBO DELILAN

BORACAY - Those who are planning to spend their summer vacation in Boracay Island in Aklan should now book their trip or at least make an early reservation.
This as Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Edwin Trompeta disclosed that as early as the second week of January this year, he received reports that almost all hotels, inns and pension houses in Boracay were already fully-booked for March, April and May.
“This is a very good report and this is an indication that Western Visayas remains peaceful because tourists still have faith to spend their summer vacation in Boracay Island,” Trompeta said.
Trompeta also denied speculations that there’s a terror threat on Boracay.
“Definitely, it’s not true. Because as of now, there’s a multisectoral group assisting the security operations in Boracay to see to it that no terrorists can penetrate the island,” he said.
Moreover, Trompeta said Boracay is now well guarded by the police with assistance from the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Maritime Command.
DOT is expecting million of tourists to visit Boracay this year.
