BORACAY - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo acclaimed this island resort as the “superstar” of Central Philippines because of its strong contribution to the tourism industry and national economy.
Central Philippines is one of the “super regions” Arroyo identified. She said it has “the competitive edge in tourism, in the natural wonders and the extraordinary hospitality of its people.”
"The area sweeps across Palawan and Romblon, the Visayas and Bicol, plus the northern Mindanao islands of Camiguin, Siargao and Dapitan,"”Arroyo said during her sixth State of the Nation Address (SONA) before a joint session of Congress.
