Authorities rescued in a sex racket two girls including a minor from
their alleged pimp (bugaw) in New Washington, Aklan on November
2.
The pimp, also a minor aged 16, was arrested in an
entrapment and rescue operation for offering the girls for P7,000 to police officers who posed as customers in
exchange for the girls’ services.
Senior Police Officer I Lea Villaruel, investigator of New
Washington police women’s desk, said the young girls came from Boracay Island
in Malay, Aklan.
The pimp and her two companions - aged 16 and 18, agreed to meet
their 'contact' in a lodging house in Barangay Tambak on Friday evening where the police
officers were waiting in their rooms.
alas-10. Siguro may ibang kustomer,” she said.
The girls are being paid for P3,500 or higher depending
on the customers could afford for the flesh trade.
The rescued girls have been taken under custody by the
New Washington police station and the local social worker office after the
police operation.
The pimp will be facing charges for violating Republic
Act No. 9208 as amended by RA 10364 or the Expanded Trafficking in Persons Act
of 2012.
