Festival
organizer of Kalibo Ati-Atihan is accepting entries for 2019 Sadsad Ati-Atihan
contest. The deadline of registration is set on December 22.

Sadsad
Ati-Atihan is a street dancing competition of tribes and groups during the
Bisperas it Kapistahan ni Senor Sto. Niño de
Kalibo on January 19, 2019. It is one of the highlights of Ati-Atihan
celebration which attracted contingents from Malinao, Makato, Lezo, Numancia,
Banga and Kalibo.
Vikings of
Dumga, Makato is defending its tribal big title against multi-titled Black
Beauty Boys and Tribu Alibangbang, both from Linabuan Norte in Kalibo. Other
tribes competing are Tribu Tiis-Tiis of New Buswang, Kalibo; Pangawasan Tribe of Cayangwan, Makato and D’Kamanggahan of Poblacion, Makato in
tribal big category.
Defending
champion Tribu Bukid Tigayon in tribal small category is facing tough battle against Tribu Ninolitos of Tigayon, Kalibo;
Tribu Responde of New Buswang, Kalibo; Tribu Triple J of Andagao, Kalibo; Kabog
of Estancia, Kalibo; Lezo
Tribe of Ibao, Lezo; Iwa-Iwa of Estancia, Kalibo and Maharlika of Dumga,
Makato.
The reigning titlist Royal Scorpio of Poblacion, Kalibo
will square off also with Aeang-Aeang
of Laguinbanua East, Numancia and D’Emagine of Poblacion, Kalibo for the modern
group category crown. Other groups participating are Atras Abante of Poblacion,
Makato; Roadside of Linabuan Sur, Banga and Baeot-Baeot of Pusiw, Numancia.
Tribu Ilayanhon mga Inapo ni General Candido Iban will
also defend its Balik-Ati title for 7th consecutive years in Sadsad Ati-Atihan.
The tribe from Lilo-an, Malinao will face Malipayong Ati of San Roque, Malinao;
Apo ni Inday of Calangcang, Makato; Tribu Datu Puti of Rosario, Malinao;
Kinantuing of San Roque, Malinao; Maninikop of Caano, Kalibo; Sinikway nga Ati
of Calangcang, Makato and Tribu Anono-o of Briones, Kalibo.

Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (KasafI), reminded the Ati-Atihan groups and tribes to submit the requirements to festival organizer’s committee on tribes/groups/individual
participation on or before the deadline to avail the subsidies.
