2 nabbed in Kalibo police buy-busts

Police arrested two drug personalities in Kalibo, Aklan in separate buy-bust operations. The suspects denied involvement in illegal drug trade.

The 49-year old Ronald Carion alias Alog, resident of Novaliches, Quezon City and temporarily staying in Oyo Torong Street was arrested at around 9:50 p.m.

The suspect allegedly sold two sachets containing dried marijuana leaves for P1,000 to a police poseur buyer.

“Tumutulong ako sa ate at bayaw ko bilang helper at cook, may lugawan kami sa terminal. Wala nakuha sa akin sa body search. Pinaupo nila ako sa tindahan at biglang may lumabas na illegal drugs,” he said.

Carion insisted the buy-bust is ‘planted’, saying, he was walking home from their restaurant when the police operatives caught him.

Operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET)-Kalibo, Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-6) conducted the buy-bust.

“Kumuha ako ng pagkain sa tindahan namin at habang pauwi may nag-akbay na isang asset sa akin, at dinakip ako malapit sa bahay namin,” the suspect added.

On the other hand, Nina Hannah Guinez, 36, resident of Bubog in Numancia, was also apprehended after handling a sachet of shabu worth P5,000 to a poseur buyer in Kalibo, Aklan on October 4.

Guinez and Carion will be facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
