“All police units remain on
alert and personnel are strategically deployed in places of convergence,” said
PRO-6 spokesperson Superintendent Gilbert Gorero.
He also appealed to the public to avoid spreading unverified reports in social media platforms regarding terrorist threats that may cause panic and undue alarm. For quick assistance, call contact PRO6 RTOC - 09999955072 or PRO6 Info Text: Smart - 09498833741; Globe – 09175943753
PRO-6 is also reiterating the safety
tips and crime prevention precautions to ensure public safety. First, the
public is reminded to notify the authorities of unattended packages, bags or
devices and suspicious-looking individuals.
If the bomb scare is received through the
phone, remain calm and try to obtain as much information as
possible from the caller, listen carefully to the caller and the background
noise and relay the information immediately to the police hotline.
Gorero said
close coordination with private security agencies and other government agencies
and police visibility are intensified to secure malls, schools and churches
and other places of convergence.
“Unit
commanders are directed to engage Muslim and properly account refugees from
Mindanao (Marawi). Western Visayas is still a Maute free region,” he stressed.
