High-value drug suspect nabbed in Kalibo

A high-value drug target (HVT) operating in Boracay and Kalibo was arrested in a police buy-bust operation on Sunday.

Police identified the drug suspect as 38-year Richard “Chato” Domagtoy, resident of Mabilo in the capital town of Kalibo.

The suspect was caught selling two sachets of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for P2,000 marked money at around 2:10 a.m. on June 18 in Kalibo, Aklan.

The operatives also seized six more sachets of shabu during the body search, according to Chief Inspector Frensy Andrade, team leader of Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU).

“Itong suspek, level 1 HVT, ay dating nagtrabaho sa Boracay. Ang kaniyang operasyon ng illegal drugs ay umaabot sa isla ng Boracay, Kalibo at New Washington,” the police officer said.

Domagtoy was implicated by drug personalities apprehended in Boracay Island that he was selling and supplying illegal drugs.

The joint operation was conducted by PDEU, Kalibo police municipal station, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 6 and Aklan Provincial Public Safety Company.

The suspect is facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
