Aklan cops capture Banga’s 3rd top drug personality

A leading drug personality in the town of Banga, Aklan was arrested during a police buy-bust operation on June 29.

Banga Special Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Police Inspector Joey delos Santos and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 6 managed to arrest Babylon Meneses, 39, resident of Barangay Jumarap, at around 12 noon.

A poseur buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu amounting to P1,000 from the suspect in Barangay Mambog in Banga, Aklan, the police said.

During the body search, the operatives also seized a sachet of shabu from Meneses, tagged as No. 3 in the drug watch list of Banga police. Last year, Meneses surrendered with authorities during the Oplan Tokhang for alleged involvement in illegal drug trade.

In Boracay Island on the same day, a suspected drug pusher was caught also in a buy bust operation in Barangay Manoc-Manoc.

Kenneth Minio from Joyao-Joyao in Numancia and temporarily staying in Manoc-Manoc sold a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to a poseur buyer, according to Chief Inspector Rogelio Tumagtang, Jr., team leader of Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU).

When collared, Minio also yielded to operatives three more sachets of shabu in the drug sting in Sitio Ambulong.

Joint elements from Boracay Tourist Assistance Center (BTAC) and PDEA 6 also joined the operation.

Both suspects will be charged for selling and illegal possession of illegal drugs before the Aklan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Kalibo, Aklan.
