Aklan PNP nabs suspects in shabu trade

Two drug suspects were nabbed by operatives in a buy-bust operation in Malay, Aklan on Sunday morning.

Police identified the suspects as 35-year old Jerahmeel Supetran, a barangay kagawad of Motag, Malay, Aklan and his companion 43-year old Ludovico Estomo, Jr. of San Remigio, Antique and presently staying at Balusbos, Malay, Aklan.

Joint elements of Aklan Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) led by Inspector Geo Colibao, Aklan Provincial Intelligence Branch and Malay police station conducted the entrapment operation in Balusbos, Malay, Aklan at around 12:30 a.m. 

A poseur buyer handed the P2,000 marked money to the suspects in exchange of two plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

Also recovered were three suspected plastic sachets of shabu and a mobile phone containing text messages of illegal drug transactions from Estomo.

Police also seized another mobile phone with suspected illegal drug transactions from Supetran.

Both suspects are facing charges for violations of Section 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
