2 suspected drug pushers arrested in Aklan

Two suspected drug pushers were arrested by operatives during a joint operation in Banga, Aklan on Monday afternoon.

Police identified the suspects as Emmanuel Neric, 24, of Poblacion, Altavas, Aklan and Emilyn Ilejay, 37, of 1407 Lord Court, Stockton, California USA and presently residing at Villa Salvacion, Toting Reyes Street, Kalibo, Aklan.

The suspects yielded plastic sachets of metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and drug paraphernalia. 

A poseur buyer handed the P5,000 marked money to Neric in exchange for a plastic sachet of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation along the diversion road in Mambog, Banga, Aklan at around 5:40 p.m.

Operatives also seized from Ilejay inside her sling bag were two plastic sachets of suspected shabu, three plastic tube pipes, and a bundle of empty plastic sachets container.

During the operation, the police also recovered improvised glass tube pipe and bamboo clipper, 14 pieces of glass tube vials, pair of scissor, improvised burner, four pieces of plastic sachets with residue of suspected shabu, digital pocket scale and P20 cash.

Banga police station led by Senior Police Officer 4 Angelito de Jose, Chief Inspector Danilo delos Santos of Aklan Provincial Intelligence Branch, Senior Inspector Bernard Ufano, chief of Provincial Anti-Illegal Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) and deputy chief Inspector Geo Colibao  also joined the sting operation. 

The arrested suspects are facing charges for violations of Section 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
