Aklan ports hit high collections, P121.399 million in first half

The provincial government of Aklan collected a whooping P121.399 million in jetty ports operations during the first six months of the year.

The figures include the collections of terminal and environment fees, rolling cargoes and wharfage fees of roll-on roll-off vessels in Caticlan and Cagban ports in Malay, Aklan, data released by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office. 

Caticlan port alone collected terminal fees of P70.014 million from January to June. 

PTO report showed that P9.587 million was collected in January and P9.218 million in February. Collections for the next four months totaled P51.206 million.

Of the total revenues, the province also registered P4.637 million as its 15 percent share of environmental fees collected from non-Aklanon guests for the months of January to June at the Caticlan port. 

Last year, the province recorded P9.559 million collections of environmental fees, the amount of which was remitted by the municipal government of Malay to the Provincial Treasurer's Office.
 
Port terminal fees of passengers of roll-on roll-off (roro) vessels of P21.164 million and rolling cargoes fees of P13.792 million were also posted for January to June.

Last year, Caticlan port recorded P32.204 million collections from terminal fees on roll-on roll-off vessels compared to P23.865 million in 2012 and P11.742 million in 2011.

Rolling cargoes fees accounted P23.850 million last year compared to P22.381 million two years ago and P23.916 million in 2011.

In Cagban port, the January to June collections this year registered P68.041 million of terminal fees. The month of May posted the highest collections with P16.392 million while April and January collections had P14.182 million and P10.918 million, respectively.

Last year, Cagban port collected P102.577 million in terminal fees. The months of January had P9.549 million collections, February (P11.088 million), March (P11.414 million), April (P14.916 million), May (P14.465 million) and June (P7.473 million).

The month of July also collected P6.266 million, August (P3.999 million), September (P2.715 million), October (P5.323 million), November (P6.868 million) and December (P8.495 million).
