BY BOY RYAN B. ZABAL

An international cruise ship is set to dock this week in Boracay Island.
Caticlan port administrator Niven Maquirang said MS The World makes first call to Boracay on July 28 to 29.
The World is the largest privately owned residential yacht with 165 residential units and it carries between 100 and 300 residents and their guests.

Around 200 tourists of MS The World will cruise sailing, stay overnight, enjoy the water sports, dine at finest restaurants, island hopping or relax in the white sand beaches of Boracay Island.

Maquirang said “from Boracay, the cruise ship departs to Gigantes Islands and Cebu in the evening of July 29.”

The World is the first European liner to offer the ultimate combination of luxury travel with world class dining, custom tours and enriching cultural events.

The residents at sea are comprised of 130 families who hail from 19 countries throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, South America and South Africa.

The ship also has world-class facilities and luxurious amenities onboard. It has six restaurants, library, fitness centre, golf facilities with onboard, full size tennis court at sea, swimming pools and spa.
Since it first set sail in 2002, The World has visited over 900 ports in over 140 countries.

This year, the 644-foot The World will visit more than 100 ports of call in 30 countries for an extensive exploration of New Zealand, Australia and an enticing journey throughout Asia to China, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and more.

By 2015, The World will embark on an expedition across West Africa, eastern coast of Greenland and in Antarctic Peninsula, the Earth’s last frontier.
