If your dogs might be smart enough to show their skills
and challenge in style, take your pets to the 2014 Dog Show on April 24 in time
for the 58th Aklan founding anniversary.
The upcoming pet friendly event will take place in front
of Provincial Capitol Building at 3 p.m. It features the man’s best friend and pet
owners for an ultimate bonding experience and competition.
The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian is spearheading
the contest to create awareness for rabies-free dogs and rabies-free Aklan
province.
The event also aims to spread the advocacy of responsible
dog ownership and learn to appreciate and love dogs.
To earn the honor of competing for the title of “Best In
Show,” animal lovers and proud owners can watch their favorite breed of dogs, aged
three years old and above, competing in several categories.
The categories include the most obedient, best dressed,
best Aspin (Asong Pinoy), owner and dog dressed look alike, terrific pet
tricks, best in small, medium and large breeds and the prestigious Dr. Modesto
J. Mapeso dog award.
Advance registration is requested until April 23 at the
Office of the Provincial Veterinarian in Kalibo, Aklan.
