Police nabbed Taiwanese nationals in drug-bust operations

In Boracay Island, two Taiwanese nationals were arrested by police operatives in an anti-drug operation  in Sitio Ambulong in Barangay Manoc-Manoc here.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs and Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) and the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center (BTAC) operatives nabbed 44-year old Chi Ping Chou, alias Sofia and Chia Huei Ma, 27, alias Chia-Chia in the suspect's apartment on March 12. 

Police also arrested their companions identified as 20-year old Jomar Celorico, alias John-John of Punta Libas in Roxas City and Vangie Inoc, 34, alias Jennifer of Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu.

Police recovered 12 sachets of suspected shabu from Chi Ping Chou and cellphones from three other suspects.

Charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are now being readied against the suspects, police said.

Another buy-bust operation in Barangay Manoc-Manoc also resulted to the arrest of two women from Pasay City. They were identified as Rhea Faye Thomas, 23 and Mariel Joyce Kiling, 20.

Police confiscated four sachets of suspected shabu valued at P180,000 and marked money of police poseur-buyer.

Police Officer 3 Christopher Mendoza, BTAC police community relations officer, said the police operatives, this year. collared 17 suspects including two foreign nationals  and five tour guides. 

A total of 26 violators of RA 9165 were also arrested by the PNP in anti-drug operations last year.
